Club 21 is specifically for high school and post-high school students thru the age of 21, emphasizing preparing students for adult life by learning cooking skills. Our monthly classes focus on various cooking skills, vocabulary, etc. This class provides your teen with actual “hands on” cooking with teachers to lead them through creating a full meal - entree, side and dessert plus, we walk through academic skills, as they apply to cooking.  Recipes have been designed specifically for Club 21 using simple ingredients and tools to prepare great-tasting meals.  All participants will receive a Club 21 recipe book and will get new recipes each month.

Club 21 is a great way to promote independence, build confidence, and develop healthy habits. It’s also plenty of fun!

$250.00 Sept, 2023 thru May, 2024

Please note: Due to the popularity of this class, we are now able to offer two locations - each location meets at the same time, prepares the same menus and is taught the same. Two locations allows us to have smaller classes to ensure hands-on opportunities for all. Please pick your location when registering (TASK or SLARC - there is a class size limit).

Also: if your son/daughter is 22yrs old or older, we encourage you to check out the cooking classes that are offered weekly at SLARC for young adults. Thank-you for understanding our size constraints!

Scholarships are available. Visit our registration page for information on class dates and times.

Our interns have become a fun and important part of our Learning Program classes once/month on Saturday mornings. Interns receive guidance on job skills and then are placed in a hands-on job in the classroom with the students throughout the year - they create individual goals and monitor themselves on completion of those goals. They must commit to attending our Learning Program class on Saturday mornings once/month and are a high school student currently enrolled in a Maren Fund class.

Availability is driven by our enrollment which means that we won’t know how many interns we can have until we know our Learning Program class sizes. This is created to be like a job - your son/daughter will submit an application (click on registration link below), and will go through an interview process.

No Cost (interns receive materials )
